VE Teacher, Associate Degree in Engineering Technology

Overview:Full Time, Fixed-term until 20 December 2024Salary Teacher Level 2.2 - 5 + Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the Melbourne City campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University or other location.About the PositionAs a VE Teacherin Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering course content, assessing students, and supervising their progress in selected courses within the Associate Degree of Engineering Technology program. Additionally, you will be required to actively participate in the school’s periodic reviews of course content, development, delivery/teaching (including online delivery methods), and student assessments.The ideal candidate, preferably from a mechanical or aerospace engineering background, should possess experience in computer applications and engineering workshops and be proficient with software such as AutoCAD and CATIA.To be successful in this position, you’ll have:Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in relevant disciplineCertificate IV in TAE (Desirable)Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the College of Vocational EducationThe purpose of RMIT’s College of Vocational Education is to empower learners and our industry, community and government partners to succeed in the new world of work.
