UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business are experiencing significant growth and we are on the search for a number of Vehicle Builders to join our high performing Locomotive New Build team, located at our facility in Broadmeadow, Newcastle.
These roles will be offered on a day shift roster, permanent full time basis. You will be required to work a 9-day fortnight (Monday - Thursday 5.30am - 2.30pm) with every second Friday off. When you do work the Friday, the hours will be 5.30am - 1.30pm!
About your role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, this role will see you working on a locomotive New Build line conducting detailed Internal & external fit-outs on cabs, general maintenance as well as servicing and general workshop duties.
Day to day tasks will include:
- Cut & Install flooring
- Installation of air ducting, acoustic Insulation, roof & wall linings
- Internal and external GRP Panels
- Window and door assembly installations
- Sealing and backfilling using Sikaflex Products
About you
- Australian recognised trade certificate & hold a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) - Carpentry Joinery, Shop Fitting, Shipwright or Vehicle Building
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, committed & punctual
- Commitment to a safe work environment and practices
- Ability to interpret schematics and production drawings
- Work autonomously and in a team environment
- Focused on quality work & customer service excellence
- Rail/ locomotive experience, forklift licence or Work Cover overhead crane licence (nice to have)
