Form of workCurrently seeking an enthusiastic, fit person to fill the role of Yard Co-Ordinator in the Darwin Depot. This role is quite physically demanding being in the Top End climate, and whilst the Depot is not huge, the role involves being outside on your feet most of the day. Ideally am looking for a strong team player with a very strong eye for detail, excellent ability to prioritise workload, good problem solving skills, and good listening and verbal communication skills. Must have current drivers licence and be able to drive manual vehicles. Must also be an experienced forklift driver with a current forklift ticket.
Duties include:
- Processing of inbound and outbound vehicles (survey vehicles, spray off through washbay, locate vehicles in staging areas in the yard).
- Preparing vehicles for local delivery (spray off through washbay, locate vehicles in Tilt Tray collection area)
- Processing local inbound vehicles and preparing them for longhaul outbound (survey vehicle and relocate to staging area)
- Preparing outbound loads (moving vehicles per manifest to load area)
- Assisting loading/unloading longhaul trucks (including forklift work for motor bike stillages, trailers, boats etc)
- Preparing vehicles at East Arm Wharf ready for delivery to local dealerships (survey only)
- Securing motorbikes into stillages for safe transport.
- Registering vehicles at local MVR.
- Providing customer service for depot drop offs and pick ups, including telephoning customers.
- Assisting with answering customer telephone queries when required.
- Maintaining stocks of washbay consumables.
- Be willing to work overtime if required.
- Assisting with Contract Logistics work when required (storeman pick/pack work/container unload)
- General housekeeping
