About the Role
Hatch is seeking an experienced Vendor Quality Surveillance Coordinator to initally support the Kemerton Expansion Project. Vendor Quality Surveillance (VQS) monitors the supplier implementation of their quality plan. The monitoring aims to reassure the project that the vendor/supplier has been able to demonstrate compliance to the specified requirements through the provision of objective evidence. An intimate knowledge of applicable codes and standards and a capability to conclude the vendor/supplier has met the compliance requirements is essential.
The VQS Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth interaction between the Client, the Project and VQS Inspectors and vendor/supplier manufacturing inspection and testing activities being performed on a worldwide basis. The key duties and responsibilities of the VQS Coordinator are as follows:

  • Coordination: The primary responsibility is to coordinate the interaction of VQS Inspectors with vendor/supplier manufacturing inspection and test activities.
  • Planning and Interpersonal Skills: The VQS Coordinator should possess strong planning and interpersonal skills to plan and oversee the efficient and effective execution of monitoring and surveillance by VQS Inspectors.
  • VQS Execution Plan: The VQS Coordinator should implement the VQS execution plan and other associated quality plans and procedures.
  • Equipment Criticality Rating (ECR) Identification: The VQS Coordinator should be able to identify the ECR for each package from each point of supply or manufacturing. The VQS Coordinator is expected to work alongside procurement and the vendor/supplier to identify inspection and testing points of supply that require VQS Inspector attendance.
  • Updates to VQS Lead: The VQS Coordinator should provide any updates to the VQS Lead regarding the level of surveillance and forecast hours to complete.
  • VQS Meetings: The VQS Coordinator is responsible for facilitating quality kick off meetings and the pre-inspection alignment meetings.
  • Supplier Inspection Reports (SIR): The VQS Coordinator is responsible for reviewing the Supplier Inspection Reports (SIRs) provided by VQS Inspectors, to ensure that the reports can meet project requirements. The VQS Coordinator is tasked with submitting these reports to the client/project team in a timely manner.
About You:
To carry out this role, you require the following essential skills and experience:
  • Relevant technical qualifications that enable a competent exchange of information between all parties specific to the product and associated manufacture, inspection, and test processes.
  • High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with various materials, equipment types, disciplines, and supply items.
  • Experience with reviewing and interpreting specifications, standards, codes, drawings, and statutory requirements.
  • Previous experience with manufacturing quality control and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards.
  • Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations to be applied for inspection and testing activities.
  • Proven track record in a similar position.
  • Excellent understanding of project execution, especially in an EPCM environment with a strong materials management focus.
  • Computer and mobile device literate.
  • Strong administrative skills.
The following experience is preferred:
