In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Job DescriptionEstablished in 2016, our Grosvenor Mine is an underground steelmaking coal operation based in the township of Moranbah, QLD. Situated only fifteen minutes' drive from the Moranbah North Airport and with an expected life of mine until 2039, Grosvenor is here to stay for the long-term growth of your career. We offer modern facilities for camp accommodation with a short travel time of only five minutes from the mine site, Anglo American housing options and healthy meals!Reporting to the Ventilation & Gas Superintendent, you will provide advice on ventilation matters, optimizing the value of the mine and implement the short to medium term ventilation strategy for Grosvenor Mine.Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide best practice advice to key personnel on ventilation and gas matters
• Prepare, publish and communicate ventilation and gas management plans that are accurate, identify impacts on mine safety, production or other external sources
• Ensure plans are understood by establishing appropriate delivery formats and forums and conducting 6 monthly informal audits to assess understanding
• Applying the Ventilation and Gas Management Plan and routinely updating the document to reflect the state of the business
• Ensure that all Ventilation approvals for operating the mines are in place in a timely manner
• Ensure that all ventilation / gas management matters relating to legislation, SHMS, SOPs are completed according to schedule
• Optimise the LOM Ventilation and Gas drainage plans in collaboration with SME's to allow for a sustainable operation
• Streamline reporting process of ventilation and gas drainage measures for various management routines

QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have:

• Demonstrated Underground Coal mining experience preferably in ventilation
• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, Geology / Geotechnical or equivalent
• Astute business acumen and ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines and priorities
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as the ability to drive performance
• Experience with Ventsim, AutoCAD, XPAC and MS Project
• Competencies in Ventilation or Gas Drainage highly desirable
• A statutory ticket and / or VO ticket will be highly regarded
