Job description

Love where you live – great lifestyle - stunning beaches, surfing, golf, fishing, wineries and brewhouses

Live where you work – coastal drives, no traffic, sail the bay

Work where you love – responsibility, career growth, supportive, and challenging

Be inspired every day

At Searoad Ferries we're passionate about what we do, and proud of the reputation we’ve established over 36 years in the transport, tourism, and hospitality sectors. Independently owned – we're a trusted, innovative, and growing Company. Operating 7 days a week and located in the picturesque Queenscliff and Sorrento townships, more than one million people travel the ‘sea road’ crossing Victoria’s Port Phillip Bay each year.

Our customers are our inspiration, and we are focused on connecting people and places through excellent experiences. We offer a vibrant workplace where we consistently exceed customer expectations and support the local community.

It's an exciting time to join Searoad Ferries with Australia's first all-electric ROPAX ferry in development, our newly opened state-of-the-art terminal in Queenscliff, and construction of a new terminal at Sorrento underway. If you want to join a progressive and award-winning Company, then a career at Searoad Ferries could be just the ticket.

The opportunity

Are you a motivated and experienced Vessel Master keen to lead our crew in the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our RORO car and passenger vessels?

We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to join our Maritime Operations Team.

A supportive and effective leader, the Master takes responsibility for the safety of crew, customers, and vessel, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and experiences.

The Master leads the onboard involvement in regular safety training and operational improvement exercises, ensures compliance with crewing arrangements, and participates in skills/competency training of crew and trainees.

Supporting the next generation of sea farers is a key aspect of our Company and culture. We run a comprehensive maritime trainee program, with our Masters playing a pivotal role in guiding trainees and developing their capabilities.

Our Masters enjoy:
  • a competitive salary with penalty allowances for daily overtime
  • comprehensive benefits package including 6 weeks annual leave
  • work/life balance with a 7on / 7off roster
  • secure employment with a 100% Aussie owned company

This full-time position represents an opportunity to play a key role in a collaborative, supportive team.
