AddressWet Edge Enterprises is a dynamic company that operates multiple businesses, including Wet Edge Marine Solutions, and offers a wide range of services across the Tasmanian marine industry. We are currently seeking an experienced skipper for Tasmanian Wild Seafood Adventures, with additional responsibilities across our aquaculture and construction benches, as well as our thriving mooring and marine business.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the vessel and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
- Plan and execute charters for Tasmanian Wild Seafood Adventures, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to sustainable fishing practices
- Maintain the vessel, including routine maintenance, cleaning, and repairs
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests, including educating them about the local ecosystem and wildlife
- Collaborate with the aquaculture and construction benches to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of projects
- Assist with mooring and marine business operations
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and protocols
- Prepare the vessel and equipment for charters, including cleaning, stocking, and organizing
- Assist with the preparation of food and beverages for guests, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation
- Provide instruction and guidance to guests on safe and proper use of equipment, including fishing gear and safety equipment.
Requirements:
- Valid Master V and MED 2 (Coxwain accepted Witt the provision of moving to Master V)
- First Aid
- RSA
- Car licence with any size truck license preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience skippering vessels in a commercial or charter fishing context
- DLMA experience
- Strong knowledge of local waters and ecosystems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate across departments
- Knowledge of vessel maintenance and repair practices
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- A commitment to sustainable fishing practices and environmental stewardship
