Full Time | Fixed term position for up to 24 months.

The Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH) is seeking a motivated and experienced Veterinary Nurse Lead to join their caring team. This position will be part of professional staff services team of nurses, client services and technical staff members. This role provides nursing support to the clinical teaching veterinarians and practice clinicians across a range of animal care related teaching and commercial activities. The position may be well suited to a nurse who has 3 years’ experience in Small Animal practice.

The successful individual will be an enthusiastic, team-oriented senior nurse with a passion for delivering the highest standards of service and care and have proven experience as a Veterinary Nurse in a clinical setting.
Performing in high pressure situations, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being motivated to mentor the next generation of vets and vet techs by imparting knowledge and modelling the highest standards of professional behaviour will be second nature to the Vet Nurse Lead.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently but participate cooperatively in team activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Veterinary Nursing.
  • Ability to train, organise and assist a large group of staff and students.
  • Ability to organise and effectively manage stock control for the Hospital.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Policies and Procedures.
  • Supervision of daily work flow and supporting clinicians and other nurses throughout a busy Veterinary Hospital.
