Vineyard Assistant Manager – North-Eastern Victoria Apply now Job no: 967288 Work type: Full time Location: Rutherglen Categories: In this new role, you will assist in the hands on management of all grape growing activities throughout the Northern Victoria grape growing region which includes the Baileys of Glenrowan and Morris Wines Vineyards in an efficient and productive manner within the available resources of labour, finance, equipment, and materials. Duties include: Ensuring daily operations are carried out safely, timely and in a manner conducive with good viticultural practises Assisting in the planning, organisation and supervision of activities conducted by Casella employees Training of new vineyard staff in aspects of company vineyard procedures and policy Assisting in the planning, organisation and supervision of Labour Hire activities along with Casella Suppliers and Contractors Training of employees and contractors to ensure good viticultural practise is achieved for all tasks Ensuring that all company employees, labour hire, suppliers and contractors comply with the provisions of the WHS Act, Regulations and company policies Assisting in the maintenance of vineyard records in order to satisfy internal and external requirements Participate in vineyard and company training programmes Attend to emergency situations on the property and be available after hours as caretaker of the property Ensuring the company’s assets are kept clean and tidy with plant and equipment kept secure and in good working order. Morris of Rutherglen is recognised globally for its Fortified wines with Muscat and traditional port varieties featuring heavily in the plantings that age from 5 – 80 years in age, the previously dry grown vineyard recently having irrigation added to drive both vine health and stable production, Morris is also the distillation hub for the very popular Morris Whisky. Baileys of Glenrowan is recognised as one of the oldest winery sites in NE Victoria and steeped with history, operating as a 150 Ha fully certified organic vineyard portfolio of both old and new varieties.
