Southern Premium Vineyards (SPV) owns and operates wine grape vineyards in Australia’s finest and most productive wine grape regions including the Barossa Valley, Clare and Limestone Coast regions of South Australia and the Riverina in New South Wales. Established in 2021, SPV offers wine producers a grape supply solution for their wine grape sourcing as an alternative to owning or leasing vineyards. SPV is wholly owned by the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) and sits within its Natural Resources Group.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking highly motivated and capable Vineyard Operators to be part of our vineyard team in Griffith, NSW. Reporting to the Vineyard Supervisor, you will carry out a variety of vineyard duties in accordance with seasonal requirements. You will implement our pest and disease program, conduct irrigation activities and maintain and operate all plant and equipment. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in vineyard development and redevelopment. During vintage you will be responsible for harvester and chaser bin operations. The outdoor component of the role involves the maintenance of trellis, irrigation systems and general areas.
ABOUT YOU:
You are self-motivated and reliable, with a safe work ethic and a strong understanding of WHS requirements. You are flexible when seasonal demand requires and able to work nights. You have a practical knowledge of viticultural or agricultural operations. Experience with multi row pesticide units, multi-function grape harvesters/machine pruners and tractors is essential.
A current chemical certificate, HC truck licence and fork lift licencse is beneficial but not essential as we provide training as required. This is an excellent work environment, varied and interesting, with the best teams in the business. We encourage you to register your interest.
