Role Description

This role manages the implementation and operational delivery of Vision Grading (VG) system operators and the sorting team across RPF and its operations. This role will be responsible for delivering high levels of line efficiency across VG infrastructure, training and development of VG Operators, and closely monitors multi-product fruit grading and specification across pre-sizing infrastructure to ensure that highest quality is met and delivered against market & export specification levels.

Primary responsibilities:

Duties of this role may include but are not limited to the following:

People & Resource Management

·         Mobilise and deploy employees against processing scheduling to optimise efficiency

·         Manage and coordinate the collection and collation of information, prepare reports on business unit performance,

·         Collaborate broadly with Quality and Operational teams to make recommendations to improve efficiency, cost management and service delivery

·         Collaborate to set clear performance standards and deadlines in line with established performance development frameworks

·         Create and deliver daily reporting framework to reflect processing schedules, quality, output, spec, etc.

·         Identification, development of processes improvement across area.

·         Develop and implement a Corrective Actions Register (CAR) for all non-compliances, issue pertaining to specification(s)

·         Complete work tasks within set budgets, timeframes and standards

 

 

Oversee Vision Grading Operations Team

·         An Excellent understanding of fruit quality and demonstrated skills to evaluate and grade fruit according to specifications

·         Develop comprehensive working knowledge of all MAF Roda vision systems (Apple, Pear, Citrus, Lemon)

·         Ensuring the MAF Roda program systems are updated and ready for production at scheduled times

·         Oversee the daily completion of machine calibrations to ensure weights and IDD are working correctly.

·         Ensure any non-conformances, deviations from standard are investigated and rectified

·         Undertake regular internal audits of quality process in consultation with the Quality Manager.

 

 

Attributes and experience

Professional background, experience & qualifications

·         Valid Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential)

·         French-Speaker (Fluent) (Essential)

·         Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.

·         Demonstrated ability to use data, knowledge and experience to identify problems potentially impacting teams or programs and proactively develop and implement effective solutions.

·         Demonstrated capability to lead, support and manage change within immediate teams. 

·         High level of tech literacy is a must – High proficiency with IT systems, MAF Roda (preferred but not essential)

·         Strong leadership skills and ability to relate to people at all levels 

·         Self-driven, proactive with a can-do attitude and good problem solving skills

·         Ability to prioritise, multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail

·         Proven ability to engage, motivate and lead teams

·         Strong knowledge of warehousing processes and operations (receivals)

·         Directing a team including workflow allocation and training of staff.

·         Flexible and adaptable, able to adapt to continuous and rapid changes in business requirements or activity. 

·         A passion for managing team dynamics with solid planning and organisational skills

·         A strong commitment to WHS and WHS application.
