This means your career will be as diverse and rewarding as you strive to be.About the roleThe Urology Consultant at Grampians Health will work closely with other members of the Urology Team, including Nursing, Allied Health, and other Urology consultants, as well as junior medical staff. They will provide high-standard urological management and surgical care to patients in the region. The consultant will operate in Ballarat and provide a theatre list and clinic in Horsham once per fortnight.Key Responsibilities
- Conducting operating sessions as per the agreed weekly timetable to cover urology patients on the waiting list.
- Running outpatient clinic sessions to see both newly referred and follow-up urology patients.
- Providing operative services to emergency urology patients as required.
- Participating in the urology on-call roster as notified.
- Adhering to all GH Policies and Procedures, including infection control policies as outlined in the Grampians Health Services Infection Control Manuals.
- Engaging in the GH integrated risk management and quality improvement systems by identifying and managing risks and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Must be a Medical Practitioner registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria.
- Must hold a FRACS in Urology or equivalent qualification recognised by RACS.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality surgical care in both elective and emergency situations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to resolve conflicts, and strong collaborative abilities.
