We are seeking a Voice Tutor (CoCurricular) to join our The Australian School of the Arts (ASTA) at Sheldon College. This includes the ASTA Academy Programs, and the audition based ‘Professionals’ Arts Excellence program.
- This is a Casual role in Term 2, 2024.
- Roster for Term 2, 2024 is:
- Wednesday 3.45pm - 5.15pm; Year 9 & 10 Voice Electives
- Thursday 3.00pm - 4.30pm; Fundamentals of Musical Theatre Junior/Middle

The RoleThe Co-curricular Voice Tutor delivers weekly classes to the highest standards. The Voice Tutors role is to cultivate a respectful and inclusive learning environment where students discover the joy of Singing through collaborative and vibrant learning opportunities.

You are passionate about voice performance, have a collaborative style and ability to work positively, both autonomously and as a team with the leaders and other Voice Tutors in the program.
You have great communication skills and administration skills to communicate effectively with the children, families and colleagues alike with a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for all children in the program always.
Other skills you may have include:
- Vocal Teaching experience (learning and/or teaching technique in all Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) styles with a particular emphasis on Musical Theatre.
- Sound ability to teach voice across all CCM styles with a particular emphasis on Contemporary and Legit Musical Theatre styles.
- Experience in teaching performance skills (technique & expressive skills)
- Professional industry experience as a vocalist is desirable. AMEB (or equivalent) Certificate in Musical Theatre or Rockschool Vocals, Bachelor of Music (Voice) or Bachelor of Musical Theatre qualifications.
- Piano and Keyboard Skills desirable.
- Experience working with School aged students or working within a school musical, drama and/or dance productions.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Qld Working with Children Blue Card
