As the Volunteer Officer, you will:
- Identify specific volunteer needs and develop volunteer specifications for various projects.
- Utilise various channels, including online platforms and social media, to seek out potential volunteers with the right skill sets.
- Work closely with team members to build a diverse pool of volunteers and coordinate responses to member requests.
- Allocate volunteers to small jobs programs based on their skills, interests, and availability.
- Maintain volunteer database, conduct volunteer surveys, and produce monthly reports on volunteer activities.
- Organize and facilitate regular volunteer meetings to address training needs and provide ongoing support.
- Conduct information sessions for prospective volunteers and assist with onboarding activities.
- Coordinate and participate in volunteer recruitment fairs and promotion opportunities alongside the Marketing Officer.
- Identify, apply for, and implement volunteer grants to support program activities.
- Undertake other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of volunteer programs.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Certificate in Community services/Leisure & Health/Volunteer Management or relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find solutions with limited resources.
- Excellent organizational, IT, and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Empathy for individuals who are blind or vision impaired, with the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Possession of a current driver's license.
- Ability to access various talent acquisition channels and leverage networks to influence outcomes.
- Knowledge of the community sector and volunteer management practices.
Beneficial Skills:
While not essential, the following skills are beneficial:
- Personal volunteer experience.
- Experience working with mature-aged individuals or those who are blind or vision impaired.
- Experience in training others.
