We are recruiting an experienced Industrial Electrician / Electrical Technician to support the LV and MV Power Convertor Systems / VSDs supplied to and operating in the mining and pump storage sectors (renewable) involving energy efficiency / energy saving technologies. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on some of Australia’s most ambitious energy storage and renewable power generation projects.
Based in Wollongong, NSW you will support clients remotely and onsite, involving interstate and international travel. All travel & accommodation expenses are covered and the working away bonus and allowances are a part of your package. Importantly, you will have the opportunity to travel to the head office in Europe for specialized technical training on the company’s OEM equipment.
ROLE
Support commissioning of new systems, and scheduled and preventative service and repair as required, with a key focus on Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and power conversion systems.
- Work adhering strictly to all HSE systems, procedures & regulations
- Perform commissioning, scheduled and breakdown maintenance & service including;
- Troubleshooting mechanical & electrical issues on solar power generation equipment
- Mechanical & Electrical component maintenance, repair & replacement
- Testing & Diagnostics analysis
- Remote access to systems to identify, diagnose and resolve faults and alarms.
- Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures
YOU
Will have solid experience relating to operations/maintenance or commissioning activities, and your knowledge and skills should include most (if not all) of the following;
- Strong culture and awareness of safety systems and procedures
- Experience with power systems, ideally Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and/or power conversion inverter systems
- DC electricity, AC electricity, and electronics
- Work closely with client technicians & engineers and develop effective working relationships
- Read & interpret electrical schematics & mechanical diagrams
- Computer efficiency; Remote access to systems, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to work to project deadlines as needed
- Full Australian Drivers Licence
- Suitability fit & healthy and able to work outdoors in remote, sometimes extreme climate.
