Working in the Acute ward on Thursdays and Fridays.
The Successful applicant will have or the following attributes:
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
• High level of computer literacy in both spreadsheets and word processing.
• Demonstrated time management skills including ability to work to deadlines.
• Experience in clerical duties which include maintenance of supplies; answering phones; correlation of files; data collection and making appointments and other duties as directed.
• Effective time management skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail
• Satisfactory police check in accordance with the requirements of the Accountability Principles 1998.
• Demonstrated experience in medical administration including an understanding of medical terminology (preferred)
Key Responsibilities: but not limited to:
Conduct primary administrative duties, such as assisting managing supply levels of the unit and organising unit stock orders, maintenance of clinical care folders.
• Facilitate ad hoc enquiries from families, external contractors, and other internal and external clientele, in person or over the phone.
• Management of unit’s medical records, including filing, archiving, retrieval and compiling of patient records to and from Medical Records, as requested.
• Actively engage in document control in the unit ensuring correct and current forms are used by staff
• Assist in organising transportation or referral requests from the unit staff including GP appointments and booking patient transport to and from appointments.
• Participates and record minutes in unit and committee meetings relevant to the role, as requested by the NUM.
- General daily administration duties, working alongside with care staff and under the direction of NUM
- Follow up phone calls to discharged patients Collection of data for the purpose of reporting to BHS Committees and benchmarking, quality improvement projects, and legislative compliance.
