NRL Wheelchair has successfully secured funding to roll out two exciting new inclusive sports programs across several Australian states, and we are looking for a talented Program Coordinator to join our team. The Rolling Regions and Play Well Projects are programs promoting inclusivity and sports participation for all. The Program Coordinator will work closely with and report to the Participation Programs Manager to ensure the effective implementation of both projects.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This a permanent part time contract position for 1 to 2 days per week.
The Program Coordinator will facilitate and encourage participation in wheelchair rugby league programs. In consultation with the Participation Programs Manager, the coordinator will develop and implement strategies, create innovative plans, and gather information and evidence in collaboration with regional stakeholders, managers, associations, and clubs to promote participant engagement.
Remote and onsite subject to activity (Office: Olympic Park and Moore Park).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy:
- Assist in implementing a strategy to introduce and increase participation in wheelchair rugby league across Australia.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective strategy implementation.
- Design and implement mechanisms to facilitate participant transition from initial awareness to regular engagement.
Operational Coordination:
- Administer and book programs in designated areas.
- Ensure best practices in booking processes to drive growth.
- Coordinate delivery and increase participation in local events and programs.
- Lead the promotion and growth of engagement programs.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to source and promote positive stories from programs.
- Gather and record data and information relevant to the programs.
- Occasionally assist with delivering activities.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, including trainers and administrators.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support program roll-out and growth.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration within the community and with external stakeholders.
Administration Coordination:
- Prepare and present reports as required.
- Manage and report on KPIs.
- Assist in developing an evaluation program to monitor program effectiveness.
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding program updates.
- Coordinate allocation, reporting, and requirements to support program delivery and growth.
- Ensure all programs are evaluated for effectiveness.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong administration skills, preferably with experience in sports or education and disability programs.
- Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding or experience in working with stakeholders and community organisations.
- High level of computer expertise (e.g., word processing, presentation software, databases, Microsoft Office).
- Understanding of the sporting culture and working with a volunteer workforce.
