Salary: $71,911.24 base per annum

About the role:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated person with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to oversee and coordinate the day to day and long-term activities of Wardspersons and portering services.
The Wardspersons Supervisor is responsible for this oversight and the provision of quality service which includes the cleanliness and maintenance of the ward physical environment and equipment. The role works as a multi-skilled member of St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Ltd. (SVHS) to provide non-clinical support to clinical and frontline staff throughout the campus to complement the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient care.
This includes; supervision, delegation of duties related to transportation of patients, couriering of items, episodic cleaning, restocking and assembling of equipment set ups. Supervisors play an active leadership role.

Selection Criteria:
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
Experience in day-to-day operations of patient support services in a large complex organisation.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including well developed people management skills and communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal.
Well-developed computer skills with demonstrated experience and proficiency in working with all MS Office suites.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and work as part of a team, including the ability to interact as appropriate with relevant stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety principle.
Demonstrated initiative, self-reliance and flexibility.
Current CPR accreditation or willing to obtain. Possession of, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of appointment a Certificate III in Basic Health Care.
