Warehouse and Freight Coordinator

We are searching for an experienced Warehouse and Freight Coordinator at our Melbourne Airport facility. To oversee the daily operations of the Services warehouse, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and movement of aeronautical parts, tools and supplies.

Manage inventory, overseeing freight management including freight quotations, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timeliness.

Snapshot of the role:
 

• Lead and supervise a team of stores personnel, providing guidance, support and training
• Oversee inventory levels, stock accuracy and efficient storage practices
• Manage the receipt of aeronautical products, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Coordinate the issuance of parts and tools with alignment with operational demands
• Oversee inbound and outbound freight, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and coordinating with carriers for timely and compliant movement
• Ensure strict adherence to aviation regulations and safety standards in all stores and Freight activities
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of inventory transactions, movements and audits
• Conducting regular stock checks, cycle counts and lead stocktaking initiatives
• Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement efficient inventory and Freight management practices
• Provide training to staff on proper handling, storage,  and Freight management procedures
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and automate the Warehouse and Freight function

What we are looking for:
 

• Extensive experience in aviation or 3PL logistics environment in a stores or warehouse position
• Hold a valid Dangerous goods and Forklift Licence
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
• Familiarity with inventory and Freight management systems/ software is advantageous
• Comprehensive understanding of aviation parts, tools and materials
• Strong attention to detail in managing inventory accuracy, records and Freight documentation
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a proficient level of computer competency
•  Ability to address issues promptly and implement solutions
