Role:
The Warehouse Hand / Trade Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of our warehouse and assisting with various trade-related tasks. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Receive incoming shipments of construction materials, equipment, and supplies, and verify their accuracy and condition.
- Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation procedures are followed.
- Assist with picking, packing, and preparing orders for delivery to construction sites and customers.
- Support tradespeople with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment from delivery vehicles and organizing them in the warehouse.
- Prepare materials and equipment for trade professionals, ensuring they have everything they need to complete their tasks efficiently.
- Assist with basic assembly, installation, or repair tasks as directed by trade professionals, providing valuable support on construction projects.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools, to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or maintenance team for prompt resolution.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while working in the warehouse and on construction sites, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use proper lifting techniques to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, trade professionals, and other team members to coordinate activities and ensure smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse.
Must Have:
- Forklift Ticket preferred
- Rights to work in Australia
- Previous experience in warehousing or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and operate warehouse equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
