Warehouse Hand / Trade Assistant

About our Company: 

Our company operates in electrical contracting for National Telco companies, mechanical electrical service and BMS Controls for large HVAC systems. We carry out design, engineering and installation. 

Our office is in Belmont, Perth Western Australia.

Role: 

The Warehouse Hand / Trade Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of our warehouse and assisting with various trade-related tasks. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Receive incoming shipments of construction materials, equipment, and supplies, and verify their accuracy and condition.
• Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation procedures are followed.
• Assist with picking, packing, and preparing orders for delivery to construction sites and customers.
• Support tradespeople with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment from delivery vehicles and organizing them in the warehouse.
• Prepare materials and equipment for trade professionals, ensuring they have everything they need to complete their tasks efficiently.
• Assist with basic assembly, installation, or repair tasks as directed by trade professionals, providing valuable support on construction projects.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools, to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or maintenance team for prompt resolution.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while working in the warehouse and on construction sites, prioritizing the safety of oneself and others.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use proper lifting techniques to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, trade professionals, and other team members to coordinate activities and ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse.

Must Have:

• Forklift Ticket preferred
• Rights to work in Australia
• Previous experience in warehousing or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items and operate warehouse equipment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
