As a Warehouse Labourer, you will be an essential part of the logistics and supply chain process, responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the warehouse. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, handling goods, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth flow of products from receipt to dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Goods Handling: Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies. Safely handle and move items using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
2. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by counting, recording, and organizing stock. Use computerized systems to track inventory levels, update databases, and generate reports as required.
3. Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications and delivery schedules. Ensure that orders are complete, labeled correctly, and packaged securely to prevent damage during transit.
4. Loading and Unloading: Load outbound shipments onto trucks or containers using appropriate loading techniques and equipment. Secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transportation. Unload incoming shipments and transfer goods to designated storage areas.
5. Warehouse Organization: Organize warehouse space efficiently to maximize storage capacity and facilitate easy access to inventory. Keep aisles clear, shelves tidy, and storage areas clean to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
6. Quality Assurance: Inspect products for quality and accuracy before shipping or storage. Identify damaged, defective, or expired items and follow established procedures for quarantine, disposal, or return.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures at all times. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly.
8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to achieve departmental goals and targets. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks, share information, and address issues as they arise.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Attention to Detail:Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory, picking orders, and preparing shipments.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and multitask in a busy warehouse setting.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software are desirable.
- Forklift License: Valid forklift license (LF) and experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
