Overview
This role will see you working as a Logistics Operator at the Garden Island Defence Precinct, a site where naval and commercial ships are repaired and serviced to meet the quality and safety standards required. This role will see you working on a versatile in the field of logistics. Such as warehousing, handling, distribution and shipping of parts, components, materials and sub-assemblies
Consistent hours Monday - Friday as early as 7am, 8-10 hour days (overtime paid after 8 hours) + potential for optional overtime.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful for the role you must have:
- Background working with Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS)
- Forklift License
- Construction Industry White Card
- Basic knowledge of Production and Repair processes.
- Basic knowledge of products and their manufacturing or repair processes.
- Knowledge of industrial management control and the Multi Year Budget (MYB) process.
- Knowledge of supply chain roles.
- Knowledge of inventory management and flow management methodologies.
You will be required to pass a National Police Check valid from 30 days and be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
The Role
Your role will involve the following, but not limited to:
Warehouse:
- Manage and handle parts, components, materials and sub-assemblies in the warehouse to supply the
- production, integration, repair and replacement APRUs
- Validate inventory information
- Perform warehouse acceptance and physical and logical incoming and outgoing operations, and
- formally record those operations in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Organise or manage inventories and analyse the causes of deviations
- Conduct onsite shipping, receiving, warehousing and handling activities
- Managing the packaging based on predefined rules
Distribution:
- Give the takt to the APRUs
- Coordinate the levelling box
- Managing the operation of the milk run
- Prepare the kits for the manufacturing APRUs
- Provide for the internal distribution and transport of semi-finished products, finished products,
- sub-assemblies, components, consumables, tools
Shipping:
- Manage the warehouse for finished products and spare parts for customer support (Inward and
- Outward transactions, inventories)
- Process customer (internal and external) delivery routing consistent with contract requirements:
- delivery times, accompanying documents, including the import and export of inventory to ensure
- compliance with the applicable national and foreign export and re-export regulations, supervision of
- contractors (transport, customs transactions). Ensure that transport operations comply with applicable
- laws and regulations
- Manage shipment for customers (internal and external): ensure that shipments proceed smoothly
- (customs process, transport logistics, Incoterm, cost optimisation) and coordinate and supervise
- delivery of the items to the customer
- Manage the Logistics companies delivering and collecting from site
