Reporting directly the the National Operations Manager, the WA Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the entire warehouse for the state of WA.
About the Role
- Supervises and directs the efficient storage and distribution of the warehouse.
- Ensures that daily warehouse activities are conducted. These activities include, but are not limited to, daily cycle counts, picking/checking/packing of orders and checking of stock level reports.
- Manages the receipt and despatch of goods within the agreed timeframes.
- Supervises planning and layout of the warehouse.
- Ensures integrity of warehouse security and compliance to Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
- Is responsible for achieving the KPI’s for the warehouse.
- Manages the recording of KPI statistics into the system.
- Recruitment and rostering of permanent and casual staff
- Manages staff resources to optimise productivity.
- Ensures that picking and put away mistakes are correctly recorded and that staff are made aware of any mistakes that they make.
- Performance management of staff where required
- Ensure that all staff are appropriately skilled and trained to handle multiple roles within the warehouse.
- Ensures that regular (preferably weekly) warehouse staff meetings are conducted and documented
- Ensures that regular meetings are held with customer service and/or sales manager to obtain feedback on performance and resolve any issues.
- Approves and manages leave requests and ensures that all relevant documentation is provided and complete.
- Ensure that timesheets are completed accurately and are ready to meet payroll timeframes.
- Has responsibility for working within the budgets for expenses, salaries and capital expenditure for the warehouse.
- Monitors the performance of freight companies and follows up with any performance or delivery issues.
- Checks and approves invoices for carriers and follows up any discrepancies and raises claims for credit as required.
- Checks and approves invoices for suppliers of services or supplies to the warehouse e.g. forklift, waste removal, packaging materials etc.
- Be the first point of contact for security issues.
- Any other duties as required from the National Operations Manager.
About You
- Preferred completion of a Warehousing & Distribution Course or equivalent combined with sound supervisory experience in a relevant industry.
- A current drivers licence and forklift licence are mandatory.
