170k-180k + Super
The role:
The Maritime Warfare Planner within the J7 - Joint Collective Training Branch (JCTB) is crucial for effective planning and coordination of maritime warfare activities in JCTB exercises. The ideal candidate must be able to work 5 days a week at our clients office in ACT as there is no work from home available for this specific role. The responsibilities and knowledge requirements for this position include:
Comprehensive Knowledge and Understanding:
In-depth knowledge of current and future maritime capabilities, tactics, and their application within JCT, including but not limited to:
  • Air, surface, and sub-surface warfare in either Maritime, Land or Air operations.
  • Capabilities and limitations of Maritime Task Groups and Surface Action Groups.
  • Maritime, Land or Air Warfare experience.
  • Strike and Naval Gunfire Support.
  • Naval Electronic Warfare and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance capabilities.
  • Familiarity with the maritime operations and planning processes of US and Allied forces.

Leading Maritime Planning including but not limited to:
  • Assisting and advising the Lead Planner in Maritime Operations for exercise design, preparation, and delivery across all planning phases.
  • Coordinating planning teams, including full-time and part-time uniformed planners, contractors, and the J73 Maritime and Amphibious PI contractors, to ensure the achievement of Exercise and Training Objectives.
  • Coordinating with the Amphibious Operations Subject Matter Expert (AMPHIB SME) to integrate amphibious operations effectively within JCTB exercises.
  • Collaborating with the Lead CPX Design Planner, PIs, and J76 personnel to incorporate realistic Maritime Warfare simulation for authentic training experiences and desired outcomes.
  • Ensuring the inclusion of realistic and relevant Maritime Warfare elements within the exercise scenario aligned with Exercise and Training Objectives.
  • Ensuring the OPFOR (Opposing Force) effectively employs Maritime capabilities and tactics that are realistic and relevant to directed exercise and training objectives.
  • Ensuring effective communication and coordination with the Planning Team Lead, Exercise Synchronization Planner, fellow TOEPs (Training Objectives and Evaluation Plans), and PIs to incorporate Maritime training objectives, serials, artifacts, concepts, and injects that will have the intended effects on the Training Audience.
