• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
• $71,572 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 6 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation
• Location – Rockhampton

Your new role 

Do you have experience operating a Landfill Compactor, Front End Loader or excavator and hold a HR Truck licence?

Council is currently seeking a permanent full time Waste Utility Worker/ Operator to join the team. In this role you will assist with the operations of the Waste Facility and Collection services within the Rockhampton Regional Council region.

Saety is of paramount importance to Council and safety starts with the individual. This role will be required to actively promote safe work practices and adhere to established health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

• Previous experience in a waste disposal environment (or an equivalent environment).
• Heavy plant operating experience preferably within waste or mining / quarrying.
• A positive attitude with the ability to complete both manual labour tasks and the operation of computer software.
• Customer service skills with experience in dealing with members of the public, co-workers and contractors.
• Ability to carry out your duties in a safe manner whilst ensuring the safety of your team members and customers.

• Experience and ability to perform duties in a waste disposal environment including labouring, Front End Loader, Excavator and/or Landfill Compactor and HR truck licence.
• Customer service skills with the ability to provide direction to customers and negotiate and resolve difficult situations.
• A strong team player that demonstrates positive attitude and can work independently.
