TerraCom own and operate the Blair Athol Coal Mine, located near Clermont, Central Queensland. This open cut thermal coal operation consists of a full suite of mining activities inclusive of dragline, truck and excavator, dozer push, mine site rehabilitation, coal processing, coal crushing, product haulage and train load out activities.
The Blair Athol Coal mine is located 24km north-west of the family friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km north-west of Emerald and 275km south-west of Mackay.

The Role
At TerraCom, we are hiring a Utility person to support our Blair Athol Coal Mine. Reporting to the Utilities Coordinator, Utility staff are primarily responsible for cleaning various minesite facilities, including bathrooms and cribrooms, plus a variety of offsite accommodation facilities in Clermont. We are seeking two experienced casual employees to carry out scheduled routine servicing in line with site and Town requirements as needed. You will need to be available to work from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Basic housekeeping
- Site and offsite cleaning of various facilities
- Miscellaneous groundskeeping work
- Coordinate laundry services
- Maintaining cleaning stock and inventory
- Monitor and report infrastructure repairs and maintenance requests for the various accommodation facilities
Skills and Experience:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to follow work instructions and schedule
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and in a close team
- Consistently deliver a high level of performance
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment
- Current driver's license (manual/standard)
- Qld Coal Board Medical / Standard 11 highly regarded (or willing to obtain)
- Clermont based position. Local candidates with accommodation preferred as role does not offer accommodation.
