Salary: $62,233 - $69,950 p.a. plus 11% Super Permanent/Full-Time Adverse Working Conditions Allowance About the role This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm position working 38 hours per week. This position is located at the Shoalhaven Water Operations Depot, South Nowra. Duties Reporting directly to the Supervisor – Wastewater Distribution, the focus of this position is to: Supervises and supports a work group within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level. Exhibits positive behaviours by showing initiative, taking responsibility for self and work group actions and referring issues of ethics and probity. Communicates in a clear and concise manner, coaches and provides constructive feedback. Supports continuous improvement by identifying improvements to processes and practices and supporting change. Contributes to work area planning and prioritises workloads to meet deadlines. Impacts on the external image and perception of Council with regards to customer service and workplace behaviour. On call – Being available to be on-call and completing reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position. Skills & Experience To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess: Current Class C Driver’s Licence Class MR Drivers Licence. Current NSW WorkCover First Aid Certificate. Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover). Current NSW WorkCover Confined Spaces Entry Certificate. Truck Mounted Crane Operator Certificate of Competence equivalent to Class C2 WorkCover Certificate (Note: certification must allow the operation of the crane and rigging loads). Demonstrated minimum of two years’ experience and proven knowledge in water supply or sewerage systems operations, maintenance, construction, and repair (including pumping stations and reservoir operation). Proven knowledge and history of safe work practices, including traffic control. Ability to interpret engineering drawing, calculate and apply technical information and skills in the field. Sound communication skills (including proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and able to provide or obtain information and advice to peers and supervisors). Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Proven ability to maintain accurate, up to date records. Proven ability to work as part of a team and to interchange duties and responsibilities to meet work goals. Demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service. Demonstrated ability to follow defined Work Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures. A commitment to undertake relevant workplace training.
