THE OPPORTUNITY
The Water & Waste Water Treatment Team Leader supervises the Treatment Technicians team in their daily roles, enabling the provision of a safe, quality water supply and sewerage services to the residences of Wellington, Geurie and Mumbil. The role ensures the efficient production and treatment of potable water to conform to Australian Water Drinking Guidelines 2011 (ADWG); NSW Health and Dubbo Regional Council’s Drinking Water Management Plan ensuring industry best practice conditions are met.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Team lead the daily operations of the Water Treatment plant and sewerage treatment plant to meet requirements of the relevant authorities
  • Supervise the operation of the water supply treatment assets
  • Monitor all Water/Sewerage activities with the use of Council’s SCADA/Telemetry System
  • Maintain accurate and current computer databases and schedules related to the production, testing and distribution of water
  • Participate in an ‘On call roster’ for responding to service failures via SCADA Alarms after hours and on weekends
  • Provide support for projects across the Water Supply and Sewerage Branch

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
  • Certificate IV Water Operations (Treatment) or a willingness to obtain with two (2) years
  • Experience in the operation of supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)/telemetry)
  • Proficient administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills.
  • High level of communication skills
  • Current NSW C Class licence
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision and leadership of a small team
