Water Officer/Plumber at Simmonds & Bristow

Simmonds & Bristow help people make good clean water throughout Australia, with special emphasis on looking after small and remote communities, from mines, industry and resorts to rural towns and indigenous communities.

We are seeking multiple experienced Water Officer/Plumber to join our Relief Services Team on an ongoing basis for fixed-term contracts across Queensland and New South Wales. Remuneration will be based on experience.

This is an opportunity for anyone with Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator experience to see our great country, meet new people and gain experience with diverse plant operations.

To be successful in this role:

• Certificate III Plumbing. 
• 1-3 years + Experience in plumbing maintenance as a plumber 
• Current Drivers licence 
• Must be self-motivated and able work un-supervised. 
• Honest and trustworthy & take pride in your work. 
• Gas licenses experience a bonus but not required. 

General daily duties may include:

• Network maintenance.
• Assists with water main renewal.
• Connecting 4 houses with stormwater, gas and water and sewer connections.
• Plumbing maintenance repairs up to 50 Council buildings.
• Assisting with the laying of 600 meters of water main.
• Troubleshooting problems with sewer systems and drain lines by locating the source of the problem and developing solutions to resolve the issue.
• Report all hazards/incidents/near misses.
• Be responsible for the safe and legal operation of equipment and the wearing of safety PPE supplied.
• Travel may be required.
• Any other task lawfully directed by your manager, the Managing Director or their delegates.

• $40/hour (Significantly above water industry award hourly rate)
• plus, Super 11% (to be adjusted as per the super regulation)
• Plus, Penalty rate applies to any Overtime and call outs on general work.

• Plus, Vehicle supplied by company, depending on the location.
