About you
Do you hold a trade qualification(s) and are looking for a new and exciting career change, Water Infrastructure Services are looking for a Water & Wastewater Maintenance Fitter, you will receive on the job training to enable you to perform maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification to the water and wastewater pumping and treatment equipment that are owned and operator by the Council in a safe, cost effective and operational manner.

- The base wage rate for this position is $1,167.57 to $1,284.31 gross per week depending on qualifications and experience, plus
- 17.5% annual leave loading
- 12.65% superannuation.
- Critical worker allowance **This allowance is conditional and will be discussed further during interviews.

- This is a permanent full time position based out of our Principal Depot in Charlton.
- This position works a 76 hours fortnight with the option to accrue time in lieu to be used as a leave option.

About the Water Infrastructure Services Branch
The Active Assets team forms part of the Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) Branch. It is responsible for carrying out the management and maintenance of the community Water supply and Wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants.
These works are essential for the maintaining public health, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable water management. The Active Assets team services a region from Clifton to Yarraman, Toowoomba to Cecil Plains.
Their core duties entail:
- Reactive works to breakdowns at pumping stations and treatment plants.
- Planned maintenance of infrastructure at pumping stations and treatment plants.
- Scheduled renewal, repair and replacement of infrastructure.
The team plays a service crucial role in the Water Infrastructure Services Branch and believes in fostering a positive work culture that promotes employee well-being, engagement, and satisfaction creating an environment where employees feel supported, motivated, and empowered to perform their best work.
How to be successful in this position
Hold these qualification(s);
- Trade Certificate
- Manual 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- WHS Cometency (White Card - CPCWHS1001)
Willing to obtain;
- Manual 'MR' Class Driver's Licence
- High Risk Work Licence
- Dogging (DG) Licence
- Forklift Truck (LF) - not pedestrian operator
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
- Confined Space Entry Certificate
- Working Safely at Heights Certifice
- Council will assist to obtain these within twelve months
