About the Role
The project will provide a centralised source of information to stakeholders and appropriately reflect the Commonwealth's role in animal welfare. A centralised source will support the harmonisation of standards and promote transparency of Australia's animal welfare system and standards setting process to stakeholders. It will also provide important assistance in the renewal of the Australian Animal Welfare Strategy by providing clear accessible information about Australia's animal welfare framework.
There is a need for a content designer/communications officer to update and develop web-based content. Strong writing skills and a strong background and knowledge in web content design and placement are needed. Strong interpersonal skills are also necessary as they will engage with state and territory governments and other NGOs on content and will act as the primary liaison between the project team within the Animal Welfare Branch and the account managers within the Communications Branch of the Department
Duties
- Liaise with departmental staff to understand and follow internal processes and accessibility requirements.
- Work with the UX team to review and redesign the architecture, linkages and navigation of the animal welfare pages.
- Develop new content for the new animal welfare pages.
- As necessary, liaise with external stakeholders for contributions.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in writing web content and web content design including user experience.
- Experience providing technical advice to government and/or industry.
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver a high-quality project within agreed timeframe.
What's on offer
The successful candidate will notionally be offered an 8 week hourly rate contract at the APS6 level (with possible extensions). This position is based in Canberra.
As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens that hold a baseline clearance or a willingness to obtain, will be considered for this vacancy.
