Weekend Inpatient Physiotherapists

Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy is a private practice based at the Mater Private Hospital in South Brisbane.  We service in-patients in the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Centre for Neurosciences, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Brisbane Private Hospitals, as well as outpatients in our rooms at the Mater Medical Centre and our Annerley practice.

You will join a team of over seventy physiotherapists who practice in the areas of Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neurology, Cancer Care, Critical Care, Gerontology, Vestibular, Children's Continence, Men's and Women's Health, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.  Physiotherapists within the team also provide services in extended scope areas of practice, including clinics in collaboration with some of Brisbane's top Medical Specialists. Active continues to provide full-time clinical education for final year physiotherapy students, in association with the University of Queensland and Australian Catholic University.

This position is particularly suited to qualified and registered physiotherapists who are now studying medicine or other degrees, undertaking post-graduate research, parents working part-time or aged care physiotherapists desiring to maintain acute inpatient expertise. Experienced physiotherapists and new graduate physiotherapists within those categories are encouraged to apply. Specific work experience with hospital inpatients will be highly regarded. 

You will be supported by our Weekend Manager, highly qualified senior physiotherapists and administration team. A comprehensive clinical induction program is provided by experienced physiotherapists, along with ongoing opportunities for individual mentoring, training and in-service attendance.

You will join a team of weekend and public holiday physiotherapists providing hospital-based physiotherapy at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Centre for Neurosciences, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Brisbane Private Hospital. 

Weekend work is scheduled on an 8-week rotating roster. Weekend and public holiday rosters are planned well in advance and usually involve working both Saturday and Sunday, on either a fortnightly or monthly basis as well as assisting with the coverage of public holidays. Generous hourly rates and superannuation are paid.
