Job description
Programmed are seeking to employ multiple Welder/Boilermakers to work at our Client sites on the North West Coast of Tasmania.As a Welder / Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator, you can expect your day-to-day tasks to include but not limited to:Read and interpret technical drawings of welded assemblies to determine specifications, tolerances and required materials to carry out the welding task.Comply with the relevant Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) before, during and after welding for operating parameters and temperatures, weld seam preparation, root gouging, welding sequence, use and handling of filler metals, visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing.Perform visual examinations of completed welds for compliance prior to being examined by the Welding Inspector within the quality team.Setup, operate and maintain various types of welding equipment and tools (e.g., welding torch, grinder, plasma gouger, overhead hoist, measuring tools) in a safe and efficient manner.About YouThe experience and skillset suited for these roles may include:Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent welder's trade qualifications or extensive production welding experience.Experience in welding to a Welding Procedure Specification.Experience with the use of MIG and TIG welding and plasma gouging.Experience in welding High Hardness Steels (may be advantageous)Strong understanding of complete welding and fabrication of major assemblies (may be advantageous)Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions and procedures of structural components.Overhead crane operation. (Desirable. Training will be provided).Basic computer skills. (Desirable. Training will be provided). These are casual positions working up to 38 hrs per week and overtime may be required.
