HARDI Australia is currently seeking to appoint a passionate and reliable trade qualified and experienced Welder / Machinist to its CAVAN based Engineering Team. The Welder will report directly to the on-site Engineering Manager. The role will best suit a person with skills in machining, welding and jig manufacturing.
Qualifications / Key Skills / Requirements
- Trade qualification in Welding or Machining;
- Experience in all or most of the following: milling, machining, centre lathe operation, MIG welding, weld and assembly jig manufacturing;
- Document work processes, changes, and updates related to jigs and fixtures;
- Proven experience as a welder with expertise in weld jig fabrication;
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints;
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment; and
- Learn quickly and work unsupervised with a positive approach at work.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble weld jigs and fixtures according to engineering drawings and specifications;
- Conduct inspections and measurements to ensure the accuracy and functionality of weld jigs;
- Maintain and repair weld jigs to optimise performance and longevity;
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve weld jig designs;
- A proven ability to produce quality work safely and consistently;
- Self-motivation in following all company Workplace Health and Safety procedures; and
- The ability to work calmly to compressed deadlines that are often determined by factors beyond your control is essential.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and quality of welding operations by designing and maintaining weld jigs that support precise and consistent welding processes. The Welder / Machinist plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, repeatability, and safety of welding activities within the manufacturing environment.
