At Cato Logistics Pty Ltd we are seeking a qualified Welder to support the growth maintenance team in our yard with opportunities to travel regionally and work from other locations as needed. Reporting to the yard/Maintenance Manager, this position will play an active role in the maintenance area. This role will reward a dynamic and flexible applicant who is interested in perfection craftsmanship has high attention to detail.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Structure fabrications
- Welds bracing for traffic control vehicle cages.
- Be able to read and understand engineering blue print drawings.
- Be able to perform key measurements and visual checks.
- Determines equipment and welding methods, applying the most suitable techniques.
- Carry out welding using MMAW, GMAW, FCAW or GTAW
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure correct positioning for welding
- Mark out and cut steel as per specifications
- Weld construct, modify or repair components, products or materials
- Welds metal and steel pieces in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
- Assemble structures correlating to the welding codes.
- Actively participate with the continual improvement of the QHSE Management System.
- Apply risk-based thinking to all job processes and compliance to all OHS requirements.
- Ensure jobs are progressing at allowable hours and deadlines met at quoted hours or better.
- Complete the required paperwork.
- Ensure an efficient and safe workplace within workshop area.
- Notify relevant authority of all accidents and incidents.
- Demonstrated experience (min 2 years).
- Relevant qualification.
- White Card.
- Current Australian HR Drivers Licence.
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Current Traffic control Tickets.
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
