Are you a versatile and skilled tailor with a passion for creating beautiful garments? Join our dynamic team, where you will specialise in both traditional Nepali and Indian clothing as well as Western attire. We are looking for an experienced tailor who can bring creativity and precision to crafting and altering a diverse range of garments, from saris and sherwanis to dresses, suits, and casual wear. This role demands a meticulous eye for detail, a deep understanding of cultural and contemporary fashion, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Construction:

Create custom traditional Nepali and Indian garments, including saris, lehengas, kurtas, sherwanis, and dhotis, as well as Western attire such as dresses, suits, blouses, and trousers.

Develop and cut fabric patterns for both traditional and contemporary designs, ensuring a perfect fit and alignment with client specifications.

Alterations and Repairs:

Perform detailed alterations on a wide range of garments, from traditional Nepali and Indian wear to Western clothing, ensuring optimal fit and client satisfaction.

Repair and refurbish garments, including mending tears, replacing zippers, and adjusting fit.

Client Consultations:

Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their needs, take accurate measurements, and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styling for both traditional and Western clothing.

Ensure client expectations are met and exceeded by offering tailored solutions and personalized service.

Quality Assurance:

Uphold high standards of craftsmanship, ensuring all garments, whether traditional or Western, meet quality benchmarks in terms of seam finishes, fit, and overall appearance.

Maintain accurate records of client measurements, alterations, and preferences for ongoing service excellence.

Fabric and Material Management:

Source and manage a variety of high-quality fabrics and materials suitable for traditional Nepali and Indian attire as well as Western clothing.

Keep track of inventory to support custom orders and alterations efficiently.

Customer Service:

Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining clear, respectful communication with clients and meeting all deadlines for garment delivery.

  • Address client inquiries and resolve issues related to fittings, garment quality, and alterations promptly.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a tailor with expertise in both traditional Nepali and Indian clothing as well as Western fashion.

Proficiency in sewing techniques, both by hand and machine, and familiarity with modern tailoring tools.

Comprehensive knowledge of traditional fabrics, patterns, and styles, along with contemporary Western fashion trends.

Exceptional attention to detail and a strong aesthetic sense.

Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Fluency in English; proficiency in Nepali and/or Hindi is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with embroidery, beadwork, and other garment embellishment techniques.

Proficiency with tailoring software for pattern design.

Knowledge of fabric care and maintenance for various garment types.
