Job description

As a Wholesale & Disposal Associate, you will be part of a leading team in the eCommerce used car industry within Australia.

You will be a key part of our value chain - ensuring the cars we buy are what we expect and how we dispose of cars we no longer require. You’ll bring a deep understanding of car presentation, as well as a solid understanding of typical mechanical defects - having been involved in the automotive industry previously. While formal mechanical qualifications would help, a broad automotive knowledge would be acceptable.

You will be required to produce timely reporting and we would highly value your ability to problem-solve and analyse large amounts of data.

The right mindset and cultural fit are critical in our consumer obsessed, dynamic, entrepreneurial, data driven, collaborative start-up, with a huge ambition to transform how cars are sold in Australia. The trust you help us build with our customers will change the way an industry has operated for decades.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that vehicles are booked in through all procedures and systems in a timely manner (IMS & External auction DMS)
  • Develop, maintain and foster relationships with Key Dealers/Wholesalers/Auctions.
  • Attends auctions (~100 Cars a Month) approved by management for inspection to assist in purchase of quality cars
  • Visits Dealer/WS (Up to 6-8 suppliers) as per weekly aligned calendar to inspect purchased cars/identify good cars with the Dealer/WS
  • Liaising with the sourcing teams internationally along with the local refurb teams
  • Interacting with management and other teams to find ways to improve the process, better leverage technology and make things easier for all
  • Interacting with Vendors to arrange returns and external vendors to dispose of cars not deemed suitable for retail

The successful candidate will require:

  • Current full driver's licence (Manual & Automatic)
  • An ability to work collaboratively in a team, take on feedback and adapt to changes
  • Interest/basic knowledge of cars and the automotive industry - intermediate level preferred - ex mechanic suitable
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Sound PC Skills (Word, excel and powerpoint)
  • Strong communication Skills - written and oral
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Possess attributes of good character, diligence, honesty, integrity and judgement.

What we offer in return:

  • Competitive pay: full-time salary at above market rates
  • Monthly Phone Allowance
  • $500 Wellness Allowance
  • Performance based bonuses
  • 38 hour week no weekends
  • Ground-up opportunity: build a big business from scratch and shape the strategic direction of the market, changing the way Australians buy cars
  • Amazing people & network. You are not alone - we keep standards high for anyone who joins us here. Be a part of a fun, energetic team with a "can-do" attitude
  • At CARS24, we don’t just accept differences — we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our customers and our community. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
