Job description

Our client is an industry leading Aged Care provider, currently seeking a motivated and experienced WHS & Wellbeing Lead to join its growing P&C team.

Working closely with and reporting into an engaging Chief of People & Culture, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective WHS systems, policies, and procedures. Additionally, you will lead initiatives promoting employee well-being and mental health, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

The primary purpose of the WHS and Wellbeing Lead is to be the focal point for Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Wellbeing matters, ensuring the organisation is meeting compliance with statutory requirements and strategic directions. The role works with internal stakeholders to realise efficiencies and improvements across the business and to be an ambassador for safety culture.

This role will have a WHS Advisor directly reporting to you that will provide operational support to help meet strategic objectives.

Working in this varied role where no two days are the same, some of your key responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Actively coach, influence and support the Leadership, Risk and Compliance and Operations teams
  • Develop and mentor the WHS and Wellbeing Advisor in order to achieve effective outcomes
  • Develop and implement a Wellbeing Policy and Program for the organisation

Key Requirements:

  • Recognised qualifications in WHS and significant experience in strategic and hands-on, operational WHS and Wellbeing
  • Practical experience in design, implementation and monitoring of WHS and Wellbeing strategies and initiatives
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills at all levels
  • Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative team environment
