Market leading and growing civil contracting business with blue chip clients Challenging and varied projects up to $50m+, excellent pipeline Excellent career progression and company culture Great opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable civil contractor on projects such as earthworks, demolition, excavation, piling, retention, foundations etc. Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated WHS Officer to join their growing business. Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a number of challenging projects. Types of projects include build earthworks, demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation etc. Typical values from $2.5 to $25m but can go up to $50m+. As WHS Officer, you will be involved in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety management are carried out across all construction sites. Candidates can come from a Health and Safety Advisor or Manager background. This role is for a potential project which will be based on site in the Fraser Coast area, the candidate will either live locally or DIDO (drive in, drive out) on a roster basis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: At each stage of the projects, assist in identifying and managing high risk activities Liaise with design teams and contractors in forward planning for safety and coordination of work activities Carry out independent health and safety audits on all aspects of construction management Plan, develop and implement reporting and communication structures to enable accurate assessment and evaluation of health and safety management performance Assessment of accident, incident and near miss reporting, evaluating findings and monitoring implementation of any corrective / preventative measures Attend planning and coordination reviews for day to day and long term safety planning of work activities Qualifications and Requirements: Ideally a Diploma in Health & Safety or a Cert IV 5 to 10+ years’ experience with background in working in construction health & safety Ability to thrive in high pressure, fast paced environment Well-developed interpersonal skills High level of organisation and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills If you have the skills and experience that we are looking for, click on “Apply” to submit your resume.
