About the opportunity:
Reporting to the General Manager of Operations on an 8:6 roster, the WHS Superintendent plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance to, and the impentations of Westgold Integrated Management System and Mine Safety Management system.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to site safety advisors and training coordinators.
- Consult with stakeholders to implement and improve WHS programs
- Monitor and assure compliance to company and other applicable safety standards
- Monitor and assure compliance to training requirements
- Analyse site WHS performance to identify opportunities to enhance OHS outcomes
- Provide oversight for incident investigation quality and ensure internal and external reporting compliance is met
- Support Operational Risk Management - Critical risk management, Occupational risk management, Psychosocial risk management
About You:
- Strong understanding of mining operations and associated risks
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, relations and industry standards
- Experience in developing and implementing WHS policies, procedures and programs
- Ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessment
- Proven experience in incident investigation and reporting, including ICAM investigations
- Minimum of 5+ years? experience in similar WHS role in the mining industry
- Tertiary or Diploma qualification in Work Health and Safety
