About the roleWe are currently looking for a full-time legal assistant with extensive (5+ years preferred) experience in Wills, Estates and Probate to join our tight knit team.
The position on offer is full-time Monday to Friday and suits a Melbourne based Probate Clerk and or a personal assistant who is well versed in Wills, Estates and Probate. The role is varied and suits someone who enjoys working autonomously with the support of experienced and well-versed legal practitioners.
Tasks and responsibilities- Assist legal practitioners with the preparation of Wills (simple and complex) and Powers of Attorney
- Assist in applications for Probate and Letters of Administration
- Lodge applications for probate
- Prepare Statements of Assets and Liabilities and other documents as required
- Liaise with clients, executors, banks and other parties as required
- Administer distributions of estate proceeds
- Prepare distribution statements and liaise with beneficiaries
- Attend to any ad hoc administrative tasks, as required
You will possess excellent communication skills as well as a strong attention to detail. Your honed time management skills will demonstrate that you have the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Knowledge of Microsoft word and the ability to type accurately is essential.
