Qualifications & experience
- Proven experience as a Commercial Aluminium Window & Glazing Estimator with a focus on mid to large-scale projects. Proficiency in V6 estimating software Strong understanding of commercial glazing materials, methods and industry best practice. Excellent anaytical & mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Utilising your expertise & proficiency in V6 estimating software and the Microsoft office suite, you will play a pivotal role in accurately estimating costs and preparing competitive bids for commercial Aluminium Window & Glazing projects contributing to the success & growth of our business.
- Project Assessment: collaborate with managers, architects and clients to understand project requirements and specifications, including site visits as necessary.
- Estimations: Using V6 estimating software to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial window & glazing projects. Analyse drawings and other project documentation to determine material, labour and equipment requirements.
- Cost Analysis: Break down project costs into material, labour, overhead and contingency components.
- Prepare Proposals: Prepare tender proposals in collaboration with the project management team. Clearly communicate the basis of the estimate, assumptions made and any qualifications or exceptions.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Relations: Liase with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes for materials and services. Negotiate pricing & terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate & organised records of estimates, proposals and project-related documentation. Track and update cost data for future reference and analysis.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects & provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project management & operations teams to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to project execution.
