UGL’s Telecommunications business is seeking applications for suitably experienced Wireless Technicians for an upcoming major Telco project in Western Australia and Victoria, with the proposed project commencing in early March 2024. These are permanent full time roles and can be based in either Western Australia or Victoria.
About the role
- Comply with UGL’s policies and procedures
- Participate and assist in preparing and updating work instructions, procedures, special tool requirements and lifting plans.
- Developing effective relationships with all key stakeholders, including customers, Field Supervisors and project team members.
- Managing on-site installation, repair, maintenance and testing for all related areas of field operations, including but not limited to installation and maintenance for; fixed wireless customer installs, fixed wireless transmissions site installs, changes to transmission site installs and customer service calls and data centre changes.
- Troubleshooting, testing, repairing and servicing technical equipment where needed in defined timeframes.
- Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions, communicating findings and requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Producing detailed and accurate service reports in the correct company systems.
- Operating vehicles and machinery in a safe manner.
- Following all company procedures and protocols and particularly being responsible in all areas of work-place health and safety.
- Maintaining relevant certifications as required and on time.
- Cooperating with technical teams and sharing information across the organisation.
- Making appropriate recommendations and briefing on repairs, diagnostics and equipment specifications.
About You
As an experienced Wireless Technician, you will hold the following skill sets and competencies:
- Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology- ICT30515 or equivalent (Preferred)
- General Construction Induction White Card (Required)
- EWP WP – 11m and over certificate (Required)
- Work Safely at Heights certified less than 2 years of currency(Required).
- Driver’s Licence (Required)
- Ability to work unsupervised or requiring minimal supervision
- Previous wireless experience essential
- Leadership ability
- Good safety record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proactively seek to continuously improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies.
- Ability to effectively work as part of a team.
- Display a positive approach to safety.
- Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety procedures
