Wood machining trainer

Timber Training Creswick is seeking a full time Wood Machinist trainer to teach new and existing apprentices at our teaching facility in Creswick, Victoria.

Existing qualified trainers preferred but the incumbent will be expected to achieve Certificate IV in Training and assessment in the first 12 months of employment if they do not hold the current qualification.

Key skills required include:

Use CAD drawing programs to design and manufacture profile cutters

Set up and run multi head moulder to produce simple and complex profiles

Machine timber products using CNC machining centres

Sharpen straight and profile cutters in a range of grinders.

Teach, mentor and guide apprentices to achieve competence in Certificate III Wood machining over a three year learning timeframe.

Review and develop course learning and assessment material to meet training package requirements.
