Position Overview:
We are currently seeking subcontractors with expertise in power pole inspections to support the Western Power Holistic Inspection project. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting full inspections of power poles in accordance with Western Power's technical specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting full inspections of power poles and all corresponding assets to assess their condition and identify any defects or issues.
- Documenting inspection findings accurately and comprehensively using prescribed forms and reporting formats.
- Adhering to safety protocols and procedures at all times to ensure the safety of oneself and others.
- Communicating effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate inspection activities and report any issues or concerns.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Western Power Holistic Inspections (PTS910);
- Certificate III in ESI-Power Systems – Distribution Overhead; and
- Certificate II in ESI-Asset Inspection.
- Basic Traffic Management accreditation
- Pest Management License
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience working with distribution and transmission networks or within an electrical construction environment.
- Ability to work in regional area’s and away from home for up to 1 week at a time.
- Experience in face-to-face interactions with the public and consumers, particularly with accessing private land.
- Experience with the implementation of HSE systems and documentation in a construction environment.
- Up to date First Aid and CPR
- Basic Fire Extinguisher training
- Bush Fire Awareness training
- Green Card certification
- White Card certification
- Proven experience completing power pole inspections, including full inspections.
- Strong knowledge of Western Power's inspection standards and requirements.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems (Mobile Inspector).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately document inspection findings.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform consistently in a fast paced / high volume environment.
- A meticulous approach to safety and conformance to technical specifications.
- Ability to obtain police clearance
