Your New Role:
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a strong and proactive safety culture that encourages collaboration?
The Work Health and Safety Advisor plays an instrumental role, assisting the Work Health and Safety Manager to deliver WHS and injury management services; and provide support to management to build and sustain a positive, safe workplace culture.
You'll be:
- Consulting and coordinating with all areas of Council to develop and inform of WHS programs, policies, procedures and activities.
- Undertaking generalist WHS activities and conducting scheduled and random safety inspections and ongoing WHSMS audits.
- Providing specialist advice, support, and making recommendations in line with current WHS legislation, Council policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Promoting injury prevention and assisting with the development and monitoring of return-to-work plans.
- Administrating Council’s electronic WHS management system.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety and/or demonstrated equivalent work experience relevant to the role. You will bring a sound working knowledge and ability to interpret WHS laws, regulations and codes of practice, together with advanced report writing skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and update policies and procedures. Ideally, you will possess WHS experience within a high risk working environment, and you have experience with ICAM incident investigation or similar methodology.
Importantly, you are confident in your ability to engage, build relationships, motivate and advise stakeholders across all levels of the organisation,
