Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Significant operational improvements are required to achieve the company’s ambition of being the most valued mining company. This includes the work on Anglo’s value adding projects and the Anglo Pillars of Zero Harm, Elimination of Fatalities, and advancement of Future Smart Mining. Critical to the achievement of this is the leadership of the operational teams.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Coordinate with the mine Operational Planning Specialist to ensure scheduling and resourcing is aligned to the strategy and the Operating Master Schedule (OMS).
- Work collaboratively across departments, to ensure the proper communication of the timing and the impact of Work Management processes.
- Responsible for process governance supporting Work Management in accordance with the AAOM (Work Approval, Planning, Scheduling, Resourcing and Execution).
- Oversee the integrated schedule to ensure it is effective and optimised.
- Oversee the management of resourcing processes to ensure sufficient resources (risk management tools, parts, and labour) are available to meet requirements of scheduled work.
- Collaborate with system application owners (IM) to ensure that the supporting Work Management systems are effectively used and maintained.
- To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate significant experience and knowledge in operational planning.
- Excellent mechanical or electrical and technical aptitude, working in machine-based operations advantageous
- High SAP proficiency ion the plant maintenance field will be essential
- Managing expectations of stakeholders at all levels, to ensure a consistent planning for production and maintenance strategies
- Strong safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach to planning work and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution
- Drive continuous improvement to support high performance and quality standards
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and contractor management experience.
- Full-time, permanent position. Monday – Friday
