About the role - We are seeking a Workplace Health and Safety (WHSO) School Officer to work closely with the principal and school community to undertake a range of WHS related tasks and duties.
Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to:
- The effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping
- Undertake WHS projects as directed by the leadership team
- Follow compliance requirements generated through WHS reports
- Undertake WHS review processes and recommend areas for improvement
- Undertake classroom safety audits, compliance inspections and provide recommendations
- Assist and guide staff on the completion of risk assessments
- Organise WHS induction processes
- Maintain student health plans
- Provide and support site specific Health and Safety training, including Health and Safety inductions, that meets BCE Health and Safety requirements
- Coordinate the WHS committee on behalf of the principal
- Working closely with BCE WHS staff members
About you - The successful applicant will hold/have/or be prepared to obtain:
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Strong IT skills and experience.
- Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety Certificate.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safe work practices.
- BCE systems such as guardian and compliance data base.
- Effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping.
To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
