The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual Scope, develop, cost and maintain annual construction programs and schedules for Works teams and contractors to deliver. Carry out QA activities and provide front line technical engineering advice to coordinators and team leaders in Works Section.
As a Works Engineer, you will assist the Works and Assets Manager/Works Superintendent to evaluate, priorities and schedule Council's construction, maintenance, and operations activities. You will liaise with key stakeholders to develop a Priority Work Schedule and long-range forecast of activities.

About You
We are seeking an individual who their degree level qualification in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline and has a thorough understanding of legislation, policies and codes relating to civil construction.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- In-depth knowledge and experience of project and contract management from concept to completion.
- Broad knowledge of construction plant and equipment utility and outputs.
- Detailed understanding of civil infrastructure operation, maintenance and construction best practice including sealed and unsealed roads, rural and urban drainage systems, and structures such as bridges and retaining walls.
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $112643.78 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1891.90 per week base salary
- $208.11 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
- $66.22 per week Civil Liability Allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
- Leaseback vehicle
- Rostered day off scheme (one per month)
- Additional allowances (as per the Award)
- Annual Award salary increases and performance reviews
