We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Workshop Team based in Canning Vale in a full time capacity.

About Destec Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a fast-growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening, and materials handling to the mining industry.
We take pride in innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. Additionally, we provide ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.
About the role We are currently seeking a Workshop Electrician to join our team based in Canning Vale, in a permanent position. This role will be based predominately in our workshop in Canning Vale, but the successful applicant must be prepared to do regular site work to assist with project work, shutdowns & leave coverage at our FIFO sites.
Hours in the Workshop
Monday to Friday (10 hours) Saturday (6 hours) - 56 hours per week. 12 hours per day are worked for any site work. Penalty rates paid after 38 hours.

  • Genuine opportunity to up skill, with practical one on one hands on training in the following areas
  • PLC programming and fault finding.
  • HMI / SCADA system design and programming.
  • VSD programming and fault finding.
  • Fibre/Copper Network communications.
  • Diesel power station control.
  • Electrical control circuit design, Construction and drafting.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing of Electrical Control Panels.
  • Programming and calibration of field instrumentation devices (Pressure Temperature, level, and flow).
  • Compliance to Western Australian Mining Regulations as pertains to Electrical work on mine sites.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • An appropriate Australian Electrical qualification
  • WA A Grade Electrical Licence
  • WA Drivers Licence.
  • No previous mine site experience necessary but a can-do attitude and willingness to have a go and try new things is essential.
  • Have a analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Academic achievements in school or TAFE will be highly regarded.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
  • Current police clearance
